The students are getting into creating their ASP.NET applications with Web Matrix using the CurliQue lessons.   The majority of students are on Lesson 8 which is a farily easy lesson and will only take up three or four classes to accomplish. Allow one class for instruction of these important concepts and show the code as well.

Some students have gone beyond lesson 8 and I highly encourage them to do that if they want however with a class size of 20 they need to know to be patient for my help when they get stuck.

This lesson reviews web control hyperlinks, the response.redirect method, and passing information to another page. The students will build a signin page

Sub Button1_Click(sender As Object, e As EventArgs)
Dim QueryString as String
QueryString = "?ID=" TextBox1.Text & "&PW=" & TextBox2.Text
Response.Redirect("08_BandServices.aspx" & QueryString)
End Sub
They will also build:
Finally, they will learn about Session variable to save the password. It's great learning about web design with this application.
Sub Page_Load(sender As Object, e As EventArgs)
Textbox1.Text = "Hello, " & Request.QueryString.Item("ID")
Textbox2.Text = "Your password is " & Session("PW")
End Sub
The task assignments requires the students to do the same application that they learned and apply it to a fan application as follows:
